June 28, 2024 – Update

Happy Canada Day weekend, Jensen Residents,

As we are in our busiest season, we wanted to pass along some important seasonal information, please read in its entirety.

Summer Hours:
Effective June 1st, the hours of operation are 10am to 9pm daily throughout the summer season. We remind residents to check the website regularly as we will share the information through the website, social media channels, and email communications.

For your safety and ours, the park does close for lightning and extreme storms. Boats are also unavailable during high winds and storms.

Upcoming Events & Programing:

Canada Day:
Come celebrate the launch of catch and release at the lake for Canada Day, the team will have freezies to keep our residents cool.

Fishing:

Catch n’ Release is here! Effective July 1st catch, and release will be in effect.

We would like to remind residents that fishing is permitted at the designated fishing pier or from personal watercrafts only.  This is to limit any lost fishing hooks in areas where residents might enjoy the lake for swimming.

For more information on our fishing policies, and required waivers, please visit JLHOA Fishing Rules

Swimming Lessons

We are excited to share that swimming lessons will be offered at the lake for the 2024 season. Lessons will be provided/coordinated by Erin Maloney & Brooke Degner. Additional information and registration HERE

Stand Up Paddle Board Lessons:

Starting July 7, YEG Adventure SUP will be offering Paddle Board lessons at the lake. Additional information and registration coming soon! Additional information and registration will be available and shared through the website, social media channels, and email communications.

Scuba Lessons:

We have teamed up with Ocean Sports to offer Scuba programs directly to the Jensen Lakes Residents. This service will be implemented in July and will be a long-term program that will be offered out of Jensen Lakes. We will share more info as the details are confirmed, please check the website regularly as we will share the information through the website, social media channels, and email communications.

Park Access:

We have noticed that many residents are accessing the lake through empty lots, areas under construction and/or through private walkways that are intended for private use by the homeowners with access to those walkways only.  Please be considerate to your neighbours and remember that accessing the lake through private property is not allowed.  Only residents with Private Walkway Memberships have access to the private walkway and dock behind their homes. Furthermore, that access is limited to the private dock and walkway; the community beach and park areas remain off-limits after hours.

Any individuals found in these areas after hours will be considered trespassing. Repeat offenders will have park privileges revoked.  Any individuals that are caught accessing the lake through private property will immediately have their park privileges revoked – warn your children!  This is very dangerous and a serious safety concern.

A breakdown of our membership classifications is as follows:

  1. Standard Home Access – Access to the park/lake (facility) through the main facility entrance.
  2. Lake Walkway Access – Access to the lake via the shared dock and private walkway, accessed through the rear of their lots.  The residents can also access the beach and main facility through the main entrance during operating hours.
  3. Lake Shore Access – Access to the lake directly via private resident dock. Residents can also access the beach and main facility through the main entrance during operating hours.

Membership Card Reminder:

We would like to remind residents that membership cards are mandatory for park entry.

Reminder that residents under 12 must remain supervised at all times by a member of their household. For the safety of members and staff, members under 12, who are unsupervised will not be allowed access.
